Quit Yer Bellyachin'

http://www.dailygood.org/view.php?qid=2889

Recently I read of a church who have come up with a great idea, get people to quit complaining!

So often we get caught up with whining about stuff...well people it's time to stop. Count your blessings, name them one by one!

Whining wears me out. It should be banned. We are so blessed to live in a beautiful country with freedom to be who we are, to love unashamedly, to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. So much to be thankful for.

Life

Life just gets so busy sometimes. I have a hard time keeping up and every once in awhile I just shut down. Ever get that feeling?

I worked today driving people to and from various churches. Easy day.

Tomorrow is another day full of challenges. After work I'm heading to Abby to pick up my mom and go to a Southern Gospel concert. Should be a good time.

Chris's folks are still here, poor Benson is so stressed. He doesn't like having strangers around the house. It'll take us all a few days to de-stress!

I'm planning a get-away for my mom and I in April so that should be fun. My mom is easy to travel with, lots of fun to be around and well, she's my mom.

Here's to a good week.

A-Z

I was reading someone else's blog (something I do a lot) and saw him post an A-Z of how he was feeling that day, where his life was at, etc. so I thought why not? My blog isn't terribly exciting at the best of times.

At times I feel I have something to say but don't know how to express it and other times I think well I really only have a couple of people who read it anyways, what's the point?

Today was an absolutely blah day. I woke up feeling sick to my stomach, overwhelmed at the day ahead, dreading the visit of Chris's parents, fed up with the world, tired beyond words and overall feeling lousy. After a bit of stomach upset and a good boohoo, I am feeling better.

So...in an effort to restart the day here's my A - Z

A. Amazing Race, love the show
B. Bad Betty, also known as my mom, makes me smile
C. Chris, my love, my heart
D. Dog named Maggie, sweetheart
E. Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before
F. Flannigen, my beloved whippet, remembered with love
G. God, the Almighty
H. Handy Dart, good employer
I. Image Media, great place to work in the 90's
J. John, my brother, home with Jesus
K. Knowledge Network
L. Love, so amazing
M. Macadamia nuts in Hawaii
N. No Ka Oi, still thinking Hawaii
O. Over the hill,
P. Paul, step-father, kind loving man
Q. Queer as Folk
R. Ralph Malph, big brother
S. Survivor, my other fave show
T. Tommy Hilfiger, fave store
U. Unto thee oh Lord do I put my trust
V. Starts my last name
W. Where Could I Go but to the Lord
X. X-rays show nothing of the pain
Y. You are nuts
Z. Zion, oh Zion

Peace out cub scout.............hope the weekend is survived by all.

Been to the Movies

Friday night we went to see Premonition with Sandra Bullock. A good story with a lot of suspense and at the end of the movie you're still left wondering if it all will make sense in the end.

Last night we rented Sherrybaby, a realistic movie about a woman being released from prison and trying to rebuild her life. When all you've known is drugs and prostitution it's hard to start over not relying on what you know best.

Lots of errands and stuff to do around the house. Next weekend Chris's parents are arriving so the whirlwind blitz of cleaning will begin Thursday evening. Any volunteers? haha.

It seems we need a weekend to recuperate from the weekend around here.

Today is my brother Ralph's birthday! He's a LOT older than me and somewhat wiser, ok a lot wiser than me and an all around nice guy.

Sniffling and Sneezing

Looks like all that fresh air last week caught up with me and I'm now in the sniffling sneezing mode! Achoo!

Not much happening around here except a lot of issues getting tissues!

Had a great time on the Sunshine Coast looking at real estate and meeting a lot of really nice people. The ferry rides were wonderful, what a gorgeous province we live in. I hope I never take it for granted. We stayed in a very pleasant Guesthouse overlooking the ocean. Everything in Powell River over looks the ocean!

Real estate isn't cheap there either so I'm not sure what my friend will end up doing but it was fun to get away and do something completely out of the ordinary.

Danae is coming over later and spending the night....she has way more of a social life than I do so it'll be nice to catch up with her. I used to work with her doing life skills training 2 days a week in my former life. She's by far the sweetest person I ever worked with and always a pleasure to have around.

Peace out. Have a great weekend!

Off and Running

Tomorrow morning bright and early (Yawn) I'm going to Powell River with Christine, the mother of Moses. Moses has parked himself on our couch to be waited on paw and paw by his Auntie Chris who spoils him rotten. He has ganged up with Maggie against "those cats". He's not impressed with our additions to the family.

Should be fun...staying in a guesthouse/hostel and having a look around.

Peace out cub scout.
Later skater.

and my favorite from working in a group home...

Hate to tell ya,
I can smell ya!

Bits and Pieces

Last week flew by...........whoosh! It was gone. On Thursday night I went downtown to meet Chris after work. She had a 7:10 pm appt so we didn't quite have enough time to have dinner before so we had a little snack. After the appt. we weren't too hungry yet so we walked around looking through the stores and people watching. Finally we decided to go get some dinner as by this time it was 8:30.

Question was where? We had some coupons from "The BOOK" so we wanted to try one of those places. We picked one and headed upstairs.

First of all our server introduced himself. Nothing special about that, they all seem to do that these days. But then he asked us our names so "we could get to know each other a little better". hmmmm

Anyways, because we weren't starving and it was getting later in the evening we ordered appy's and a glass of wine. Then Chris gets the bright idea of having a piece of chocolate cake. Sounds good to me, I tell Oscar, "bring us 2 forks, if it's big enough to share" He assures us it is.

The cake arrived. We thought it would be a slice but it turned out to be a whole cake! We were stunned to say the least, turns out it's their promo. And if it's your birthday you don't even pay for it! Now we know where to take Barb!

The cake was big enough for us both to have gigantic pieces and share the rest with our Abby friends. I took a photo but can't upload on this 'puter so close your eyes and pictures a yummy chocolate cake with dark choco swirls running down the top.

We went to a Brian Doerksen concert on Friday night...very good. Saw Barb before that and had dinner with her...good times as always.

Last night I went to see Pursuit of Happyness....Will Smith does a LOT of running, but other than that, good movie. Saw my friend Jen and little Miss Teriyaki.

Off to work today because I'm taking some days off this week.

Have a good week everybody. Peace out.
